It's not only the end and beginning of the year that I feel blissful and blessed for everything in my life, but it's always great to express my gratitude and what better time to do that than the beginning of the new year?
So much fangirling, so much awesome live music
2013 was a fantastic year of concerts and showcases, and I've had incredible luck when it came to meeting my favourite bands (two of them!) and oppars and unnies. I also found a great concert companion in Yiyun - one of the few people I know who cares more about the music than the artiste. Can't wait to rock Music Matters 2014 with her again!
Hong Kong and Taiwan
Still haven't traveled out of Asia, and these are two countries that I've visited previously. But for Michy the pig, visiting two of Asia's food havens is always exciting... and fattening. The former also helped me get closer to some of my University mates.
stereomich hit 1000, then 2000 subscribers
My YouTube channel is one of my most important things and I put in a lot of work into my covers. So being able to gain subscribers is a great encouragement for me. Of course, being able to monetize my covers is a bonus. It's a great feeling receiving e-mails everyday that someone has subscribed to my channel, and I'll definitely improve on my covers and videos.
My awesome friends
I don't have many friends, but I think I'm blessed to have these people that I don't think I deserve. Everyday, I learn something new about somebody and I realised that there are more people who care about me then I think, so for that I'm extremely thankful.
-----
There are too many things to say and too many people to thank, but you know who you are. Thanks for making an impact in my life. There are so many things I wanna do in 2014, but to me what's most important is that the people around me stay happy. I recently learned about this thing called 'love language' from Eudora and I think it's a pretty cool thing to use as a reference.
Here's to a great 2014 - less conflicts and more happiness all around.

août
I'm not a very dedicated blogger, am I? Haha. But then again this shows that I've been keeping myself occupied and having a life... except the past week where I finished the whole 'Saints Row 3' and played 'Sims 3' till I got bored.
Last month, I finished my stint at omy.sg and while I won't get all sentimental, I gotta say that everyone was really really nice and I do hope to meet them again. On my last day, it was also another colleague's last day there and one of them bought cupcakes. T_T
Also, thank you boss for the buffet dinner.
Met up with my TP French horns after a really long time of not seeing them because Caiyu's band was performing and she invited us. It wasn't full attendance, but we had fun nonetheless. I think Caiyu had the most fun from introducing 'deejaymich' as a 'special guest' and embarrassing me to no end.

Our duet was unrehearsed and totally spontaneous okay. Sorry for cropping the rest of the band mates out. Do check The Young Folks out on their Facebook page here. They're really dope so do catch them at Bistro@Changi on Friday nights. That place has a great atmosphere too!
Finally made my way to the Tim Ho Wan here with the remaining TWEEPS, and it also happened to be Nava's virgin dimsum meal! I'm glad her first was here, because even though Hong Kong's was better, it is still one of the better dimsum restaurants in Singapore.
A month's not made for me till I catch a gig. This month's were B.A.P's Live on Earth Singapore concert and 987FM's All Access with Before You Exit.
Okay - unpopular opinion time - I wasn't overly impressed with the former unfortunately. It could have been how far I was away from the stage, but they seemed kind of lethargic, which was pretty sad because their choreography has always wow-ed me. I just wasn't feeling it that day - they were probably tired from preparation of their 'Badman' comeback. But I will forever be in awe of how Daehyun can hit every single note so perfectly throughout the whole concert.
P.S. Check out the pics I shot for Dinoseoul during the first three songs when I was a hundred times nearer here.
On the other hand, Before You Exit really impressed me. Their harmonies were spot on. I really enjoyed their songs, but not so much the whole experience because of inconsiderate fans urgh. Anyways, here's an acoustic performance of my favourite song from them. Go check their cover of Bruno Mars' When I Was Your Man. You will not be disappointed.
And... is it any surprise that I have a favourite already? Sigh Connor (the one on the right in the video). Hahaha.

Jon, Yiyun and I waiting to go into the venue; Me being me; Pretty sky.
Till next time! xx

You Rock My World

This is way overdue but the TWEEPS were reunited on Brenda's 21st birthday celebration, and I couldn't have been happier to have everyone back at one place. I met a couple of the Perth kids prior to that, but nothing can compare to when all of us are together.

When Deanna came back!

Mel where are you

A day out with these people is always the best. And as time quickly flies by I am dreading the day they fly back to Perth even more than I did when they first left. Why isn't Down Under literally just down under? :(
Also, as some of you may know, I'm currently holding a temporary job at Omy.sg. But my stint there is gonna end soon and I'm kinda upset even though it's only two months because everyone there has been soooooo nice.
Goodbyes, why do you exist?

Breakeven
So the past week has been pretty eventful.
I went for The Script's concert with Yiyun and it one of the best ones I've ever been to. I'd hate to admit it but this gig beats All Time Low's and Boys Like Girls' gigs anytime (YES I SAID BOYS LIKE GIRLS).

It was brilliant I tell you. The image of the stadium singing 'ohhh these times are hard yeah they're makin' us crazy don't give up on me baby-eh-eh' (lyrics of 'For The First Time') repeatedly instead of shouting 'encore' is still prominently etched in my mind. These guys sure know how to work the crowd. Danny, Mark and Glen were all so happy that day. Ah, I really wouldn't have it any other way. Still suffering from a little bit of concert depression.
And today was another great day because we finally submitted our first production - 'SHE'! Much thanks to my awesome crew and group. I was initially quite intimidated about being Director of Photography but it seemed like my fears were unfounded. So glad I had James around to help me as camera assist. And thank you director Rix for being patient with me. I'll try to be patient too when our roles are reversed for the next production.. Hehehe.
The awesome crew!!
I'll try to blog about my trip to Hong Kong soon - when I am really free. That's gonna be next month. Byeeeeeee.

Maybe Tonight
Because I haven't updated this space in more than a month. And because assignments suck.

.jpg)
Okay, back to work. Sobs.
Just a round-up of February so far. I was also quite happy this month because I got to use my 650D a lot. Hehe.
1) Sent my friends off to Perth (cue obligatory sentence on how much I'm missing them).
2) Had a great CNY.
3) Covered Kim Jong Kook's Fan meet for Dinoseoul.
4) Went for The Summer State's EP Launch (+ getting to see Trick for the third time + having a nice talk with one of the members, Marc + seeing Harold there and catching up with him).
5) SHINee made their comeback and I absolutely love it.
6) I broke 950 subscribers on YouTube. Yay!
I've got so much of shit due this week it's not even funny. On another note, I absolutely can't wait to do the filming for my group's first production in Chapman! Being Director of Photography is quite stressful though. Ahh. I shall do a proper update after all my assignments are over (before Hong Kong, hopefully)!
Ending off this post with some photos from the CNY period. Have a good last three days of February y'all!

Haiyo my Kaelyn ah why so cute?!
.jpg)
Full maternal family photo. The adults were all so excited about my camera I don't even. Lol.
.jpg)
Female cousins on the paternal side.

Hehehe.

At Nigel's housewarming.
Okay, back to work. Sobs.

Starships Are Meant To Fly
I had one of the most awesome weekends ever with the Poly bunch on Saturday's birthday-cum-farewell party at Regent Hotel - an impromptu music video of Starships (check it out at the bottom of the post), silly videos of us dancing to songs, stupid video commentary by Rachy and I while the rest were sleeping, Russian Roulette, Circle of Death, epic Brenda, epic moments.
And blogging about parties means.... pictures!!! I edited my pics again because I like 'em photos to be at half saturation.

Happy 21st birthday again, Rachy! Stef, Yiyun and Jon too! Wahahaha y'all so old.
In everyone's life, there will always be one or two groups of friends that you'll never be able to forget no matter how long has passed. These amazing people fall into that category for me and so I believe that we'll be able to withstand the test of time even if the Perth peeps aren't gonna be here. Gonna miss all five of y'all so much please prepare some tissue for me when I see y'all off. I told Nava I won't cry but we all know that it is impossible lololol. :| Gonna aim for a trip down (under) in August.
Thanks guys, for everything. I know this is not goodbye but it sure feels like it, haha.
Thank y'all, ya.
I love y'all, ya.
And here's our lip dub for Starships!

Abusing my camera

Brenda before she went into full cray cray mode.

Mandatory MS B pic!

The four birthday girls/boy! I scolded Nava for photo-bombing LOL.

So proud of our two NS boys ♥

I'm gonna miss you the most I don't wanna cry can I not send you off ㅠㅠ

Go For Gold!
Ah, my first music event (almost) of the year - Kyle Patrick's autograph session! This was my third time seeing him - and they were all up-close. Pretty cool to see him again - and man is he getting more handsome as time goes by!
.jpg)
Met up with a few of them from the Poly bunch (or TWEEPS as we call ourselves now) for dinner after that. The Handburger + dessert and ice cream from The Cafe Cartel at 50% + casual banter = great night.

Can't believe there's only less than a month left till 'em Perth people leave! My poor heart... But I'm really looking forward to 26th Jan. Gonna be the most epic party yet.

How sweet of him to stand up to greet the children! Aww!

Autographed KP album and poster - thank you Yiyun for helping get the poster signed! The pick was given to me by 987FM's Divian after I had to sing a small part of 'Go For Gold' LOL.
.jpg)
Me and Divian with 1/4 of his head cut off because Yiyun is an amazing photographer.
