Where Dreams Go To Die

You have always dreamed of doing something, but you know that it will never happen - I hate this feeling.

As you may (or not) know, I have always wanted to form a band, to jam, perform, or just chill out together. Being in a band his not simply just something on my bucket list, it is something I've always dreamed of, something that I've always wanted to do with my friends.

Ever wondered why my favourite artistes are mostly bands? (Boys Like Girls, All Time Low, Faber Drive, S.H.E, F.T. Island, etc.) To me, being in a band means that you have people you can always count on and rely on, yet have fun together by doing something that we all are passionate for. Bands always seem like a family and they are always united and bonded and there's just this love for each other that you can feel whenever you see them perform or jam together. Truth be told, whenever I see my friends form bands, I feel happy for them, but I always think, 'why not me?' Yeah, I get jealous.

I love making music, that's what I do best. But doing it alone is just uninspiring, and just, not enough (nothing's ever enough). So what if I can sing, play the guitar, piano and other instruments? I can't do it all at once.
So what if people praise me for being able to sing? I have no one else to share my joy with.
So what if I were to make it big? I have no one to share my success with.
So what if I can make music by myself? I have no one to work hard with.

There was once where I actually formed a band but before it could take off, it just sort of failed, due to reasons that I won't state. It was quite a big blow to me. And because of this, I feel afraid to try to form a band by myself again. I can't take the blow after being all excited and hyped up for it.

Call me desperate, but if I was in a band even just for one month, that period will be the happiest time of my life, although the separation will be hard as well. Yup, that's how much I want to join one.
I want to write songs with my band, I want to play songs with my band, I want to have gigs with my band. Basically just like any other band.

I just want to live my dream. Just want to do what I do best. Just want to do what I love.

I know it will never materialize. I'll never know what it feels like to be part of a band. Till that day comes, my music will forever be soul-less.

Forever.

This is me being over-sensitive again.

Friday Friday Friday

Yes first a really stupid video:

One of the dumbest songs I've ever heard. LOL currently has 5.6 million views on Youtube and she has been trending on Twitter for the past couple of days.

Uh, yeah. I'm sure we all do...

Okay enough of rubbish. Anyway, Hey Monday's Candles music video was recently released after they released a Candles EP featuring a new version of the song. Definitely one of my favourite songs of all time. Love the video, too. Cassadee is so gorgeous!

I don't understand why people compare Hey Monday to Paramore. If you listen to them separately, they have totally different music styles. Honestly both bands are really awesome and they have really great vocalists but I don't think that they should be compared to each other due to the differences in their music.

Moving on, I had a great day with Stef at Teo Heng just karaoke-ing to our favourite S.H.E classics. You have no idea how much I miss them, especially after I watched their concert DVD. I really love the song 老婆. Whenever they sing that song live, I never fail to cry after seeing them tear. Of course you can't forget their classic ballads like 远方, 候鸟, 热带雨林, 不做你的朋友 etc. Superstar and 美丽新世界 are also nice songs to get high to and we sang 痛快 really really loudly to compete with the next room which had Mayday songs on full blast. Hahaha why do I get happy when I do dumb stuff? My throat is so sore now but I don't care because I had fun :)

Hehehe hi Stef if you're reading this, I love hanging out with you. Very much. Why you so adorable?!

Rachel and Jeanette are in Bangkok right now probably having the time of their lives shopping. Have fun, and stay safe, girls! ^^

Happy Birthday Tyler Ward

To my favourite Youtube artist, Tyler Ward, happy birthday!

I don't know what charm you have but I have to listen to your voice at least once everyday.
The first video I saw from you is your cover of 'Live Like You're Dying'.

And I fell in love with you ever since.

Your love for Taylor Swift is just commendable. Hahaha.

But well, if you don't get to change your name to Tyler Swift, there's always Julia Sheer waiting ;) Heh.

You have an amazing crew. Continue making awesome music. And please please post more full covers lol.

Love you Tyler!

Pray

Disasters all around the world, and people like us sit here in front of our computers Facebooking, Twittering, Youtubing, Tumblring, fretting over what to eat for lunch and worrying about the most trivial things ever. It makes me feel ashamed of myself.

Not many things that we are capable of doing. Except raising and awareness and hope for the best really. And to those people in China who are happy over the fact that Japan got hit by the quake, may karma befall you.

My condolences goes to all affected.

That being said, I realise how lucky I am to be here with people I love. One of my best friends asked me what I would do if she was in Japan and this happened. I honestly don't know and I think I'd just have panic attacks and just, well, panic. I'm glad that there's this website to find people in the disaster areas although I don't know how it works.

I honestly don't believe in the world ending in 2012 but to all of you out there, before I miss the chance to say it, whether the world is ending or not, I love you all.

Dreaming

Sigh seriously..the things I'd do to go for the Dream High concert.

Dream High is definitely one of the most amazing dramas I've ever watched. You have your typical characters - the female and male leads, the sidekick, the bad girl and the sweet loving couple in their own world. However, there are so many twists to this story. They don't catch you off guard but they certainly give a warm and fuzzy feeling inside.

It seemed almost certain that Hyemi and Jinguk would be together in the end but this is not your typical drama; I'm so glad that Samdong got her instead. Sigh I love how he was head over heels for her but she never seemed to care until one day *jeng jeng jeng* it struck her that he was the one.

I love how all of them decide on their own paths and not all of them become performers. Like Baekhee who became a teacher at Kirin High, taking after her beloved teacher.

Pilsook became a kindergarten teacher ohmygod too cute! Same Pilsook except she became fatter and happier, just like her young days. The kids in the scene too; omggggggg argh! Jason's interaction with her is too cute I can safely say that they are my favourite on-screen couple.

On another note, my place for internship has been secured and I'll been interning in a company called Inflight Productions. The job scope's pretty cool and I'm really excited to start! No kidding.

In addition:
- Casual wear
- Five day work week
- No overtime, unless something crops up
- IT IS AUDIO PRODUCTION

Seriously life is great now. Even better after playing Demigod with Jonathan and Brenda!
I can collect my S.H.E DVD on Friday!

Oh and I love Big Bang's new mini album, all the songs are really catchy but Cafe is probably my favourite song and G-Dragon was seriously sexy while performing it during the 1 hour special. And ohmygod the Secret Garden parody. That was really epic.

Life's great.
