My Life in 2010

2010 was definitely a memorable year for me. At least, it feels so much better than 2011. This year's turning out to be a wreck and I absolutely hate it.

Anyway, I am thankful that I lived through the last year of the first decade of the new millennium.

For starters, I got closer to a bunch of friends that I know I can always count on whenever I need them.

I'm glad that I started going out with all of you. Be it the afternoons where we'd just go chill, or do something exciting and fun, I will remember them all. On days where I get all emotional, y'all will make me feel better. I can't even stand my own ranting sometimes so your patience is greatly appreciated! Thank you guys, for making my life in TP so much more bearable! And to two really important people, Stef and Rach, both of you will always have a special place in my heart. Thank you for everything, especially my nonsense LOL I know I have said this a million times but one more time won't hurt. :)

I went for my first ever English rock band, Mandopop and K-Pop concerts. (aka I went over to the dark side when I listened to Lucifer)

Boys Like Girls were really epic live. Being able to see Martin, Paul, Bryan and John was so surreal and I'm really looking forward to going for their next concert in Singapore, which I hope will be soon. And this time, I WILL BE RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE STAGE.

S.H.E's concert was probably the most meaningful one I went for. They were the artistes that I have been supporting for the longest time and they will always have a special place in my heart. I was really glad to have been present at the concert, after missing the first two they had here. And the news of Selina made me believe even more that I had made the right decision to go for it. I sincerely hope that Selina gets well as soon as possible. I really miss her very much and I hope she stays strong like she has been. With hope, one day, I just might see all three of them on stage again.

K-Pop Night was awesome, especially since I had Rach to go with me. I think we are great concert partners hahahah. Can't wait for this year's! It'll definitely be more epic. I just know it! Hahaha. Next up, Taylor Swift's concert! :D Contemplating if I should go join the Taylor Swift competition. Hahaha.

SYF/SIBF with TK Band.

Being able to participate with TK Band in SIBF was definitely fun. Being able to help out in the practices on their road in practicing for SYF was indeed enriching too. Seeing my juniors work really hard, although they may not be satisfied with the results, reminded me of myself when I was still in the band. They were like a reflection of myself. Nostalgic whenever I go back. Love my juniors so much, really. I hardly visit now, though. Shall find time to go back.

NBC, performances and concerts with TP Band.

Being Band President has been stressful but at the same time, fulfilling. Working with my main comm was exciting. Well it helped that we worked well together. Gonna choose the new comm soon and I won't deny that I can't wait to hand the baton over to the next batch so I can focus on other things! Hahaha. And to my section mates, we definitely have had lots of fun and let's make it continue that way! :D

I started learning the guitar.

I have Eudora to thank for this. I got inspired by her to take up guitar after seeing her play it at Rachel's birthday. I thought it was really cool because I always had the stereotypical perception that guitars are better played by guys but it was proven that it is nonsense. Bought my guitar on 19th March and it is definitely one of the things I possess that I take more care of.

As proud as I am that I can play many instruments, it kinda dawned on me that I was only 'okay' at all of them. Sigh I need to work harder to master my playing. By the way I am really excited at the prospect of getting my AT2020 condenser mic! It will definitely make my recording more enjoyable. In addition to that, I recently found an audio software called Soundforge and it is much better than Audacity. Should make use of that often. In the meantime, I shall continue writing songs and I hope that I can write better songs with nicer melodies and less cheesy lyrics. I need to improve my vocab pronto! On a more positive note however, I'm glad that my Poly friends liked the song I wrote for them. My first ever composition will be a hit! Hahahaha. Maybe when I get equipment I can record a full band version. That'd be really awesome.

I celebrated my birthday, Christmas/New Year with people who care.

My December was really awesome. Totally enjoyed 5th December and I'd sincerely like to thank Rachy again for organizing it all! I was touched but I guess I was having too much fun to cry LOL. Not really sure how to react after a decade of not celebrate my own birthday. Hahaha.

12th December was awesome too. Met up with my TK Band French Hornists after a really long time. Miss them too much. It is really cool how after not meeting each other for such a long period of time, we still can poke fun and insult each other without anyone feeling offended. Now THAT is real bond. :)

Our Christmas-cum-New Year party was really awesome too! It was the first time I celebrated Christmas and boy, am I glad that the date was changed so I could make it. Thank you so much Keith, and of course his trusty secretary, Rach! Thank you to everyone who was there too. Though we probably had a tad too much to drink, we all still had fun and it was definitely and awesome way to end off 2010. Let's have it every year! But of course, going easy on the drinks this time.

My resolutions for every year is to work harder academically but it never works out, however, I shall set that resolution again, seeing that my current marks are quite depressing. Another resolution will be to watch my diet because of the current condition of my body. Shan't elaborate on that though. Last resolution will be to improve my guitar, singing and drumming skills. :)

Yup, I shall conclude this post now. My wish for 2011 is for myself to have enough money to support my funding for concerts. Hahaha. I hope everyone around me stays happy, too. And that, is the most important thing. :)
